After mind mapping different ideas and themes I decided on three different themes that all use numbers but are shown at different times of the year. My final three ideas were Christmas - where the numbers were used to countdown the days until Christmas day. I chose this as my first idea as I know that young children enjoy Christmas as it is exciting. My second idea was the theme of Autumn where the numbers I used were to count the leaves collected by the blobs. I used the theme of Autumn and leaves as younger children are more likely to go outside during the Autumn and collect leaves. My final idea, which I eventually used for my ident, was Summer themed and numbers were used by the blobs when they play with the ball and count the number of throws. I decided to use this as my final idea as I know that children enjoy going to the beach and playing on the sand.
To make each storyboard effective I added the different shots into the description. I tried to use a range of different shots to make it more enjoyable to watch as younger children tend to lose concentration easily. I also made sure that each shot/storyboard had a range of exciting sounds to keep the children engaged. For example in my final ident I used the sounds of waves and an ice cream truck to create the desired effect. Whilst storyboarding I made sure that each individual shot had plenty of detail to ensure that if I did choose one I would know exactly what I'm doing and how the shot needed to be done.
